Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 6616 — In the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ الصَّنْعَانِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَانُ، ثنا هُرَيْمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى، قَالَا: ثنا مُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنِ السَّائِبِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، قَالَ: «كَانَ النِّدَاءُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَبِي بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا عِنْدَ الْمِنْبَرِ، وَأَوَّلُ مَنْ أَحْدَثَ النِّدَاءَ الْأَخِيرَ عُثْمَانُ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ»
Sayyiduna al-Sa'ib bin Yazid (may Allah be pleased with him) said: In the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and of Sayyiduna Abu Bakr and Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), the adhan was given beside the pulpit, and the first to introduce the last adhan (the third adhan) was Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him).
