حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ زُهَيْرٍ التُّسْتَرِيُّ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ الطَّرِيقِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ، ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ: أَهْلَلْنَا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَدِمْنَا مَكَّةَ لِأَرْبَعٍ خَلَوْنَ مِنْ ذِي الْحِجَّةِ، فَأَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ نَحِلَّهَا وَنَجْعَلَهَا عُمْرَةً، فَأَحْلَلْنَا الْحِلَّ كُلَّهُ، فَطُفْنَا بِالْبَيْتِ وَبَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ حَتَّى، إِذَا كَانَ يَوْمُ التَّرْوِيَةِ أَمَرَنَا فَأَهْلَلْنَا بِالْحَجِّ، فَقَالَ بَعْضُنَا لِبَعْضٍ: خَرَجْنَا مِنْ أَرْضِنَا , حَتَّى إِذَا لَمْ يَكُنْ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَ مِنًى إِلَّا أَرْبَعٌ , نَخْرُجُ وَمَذَاكِيرُنَا تَقْطُرُ مَنِيًّا؟ فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , فَقَالَ: «أَتَتَّهِمُونِي وَأَنَا أَمِينُ أَهْلِ السَّمَاءِ وَأَهْلِ الْأَرْضِ؟ أَمَا إِنِّي لَوِ اسْتَقْبَلْتُ مِنْ أَمْرِي مَا اسْتَدْبَرْتُ مَا كَانَ الْهَدْيُ إِلَّا مِنْ مَكَّةَ» وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ قِصَّةَ سُرَاقَةَ
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: We entered ihram with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), then we reached Makkah when four days of Dhu al-Hijjah had passed. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered us to come out of ihram and make it an Umrah, so we came out of ihram completely. We performed tawaf of the House of Allah and between Safa and Marwah, until when the Day of Tarwiyah came, he (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered us and we entered ihram for Hajj. Then some of us said to one another: We set out from our land (for Hajj), until when only four days remained between us and Mina, are we to set out (for Mina) while our organs are dripping semen? This reached the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do you accuse me, when I am the trusted one of the people of the heavens and the people of the earth? Listen: had I known beforehand what I came to know afterwards, the sacrificial animal (hady) would have been obtained only from Makkah." (The narrator) did not mention the story of Sayyiduna Suraqah (may Allah be pleased with him).
