Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 6551 — We came (to Makkah) with the Messenger

Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: We came (to Makkah) with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), intending only Hajj. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered that whoever did not have a sacrificial animal (hady) with him should make it an Umrah, and this weighed very heavily on the people. Sayyiduna Talhah bin Ubaydullah (may Allah be pleased with him) had a sacrificial animal with him. And Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) came from Yemen, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him: "For what did you enter ihram?" He said: For that for which you entered ihram. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had a sacrificial animal and one hundred more sacrificial animals with him. Then Sayyiduna Suraqah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: O Messenger of Allah, is this Hajj of ours for this year only, or forever? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No, rather forever."
