Sayyiduna Sabrah bin Abi Fakih (may Allah be pleased with him), who was one of the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), says: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Satan sits in wait for the son of Adam on all of his paths. He sat in wait for him on the path of Islam and said: 'Will you accept Islam and abandon your religion and the religion of your forefathers?' Then he sat in wait for him on the path of emigration (hijrah) and said: 'Will you emigrate and leave your birthplace, and then remain like a horse tied to its tether?' Then he sat in wait for him on the path of jihad and said: 'Will you fight in jihad? You will be killed, your wife will be married off, and your wealth will be divided.'" Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever does that, Allah has guaranteed Paradise for him."
