حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ، ثنا الْمُعْتَمِرُ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عُمَارَةَ بْنَ غَزِيَّةَ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنِ الرَّبِيعِ بْنِ سَبْرَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، " أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ دَخَلَ مَكَّةَ يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ، وَأَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَذِنَ لَهُمْ فِي مُتْعَةِ النِّسَاءِ، فَخَرَجْتُ أَنَا وَابْنُ عَمٍّ لِي، وَمَعِي بُرْدٌ قَدْ مُسَّ مِنْهُ، وَمَعَ ابْنِ عَمِّي بُرْدٌ جَدِيدٌ غَضٌّ، وَأَنَا جَمِيلٌ فَاضِلُ الْجَمَالِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَمِّي، وَابْنُ عَمِّي دُونِي فِي الْجَمَالِ، فَخَرَجْنَا حَتَّى إِذَا كُنَّا بِأَعْلَى مَكَّةَ أَوْ بِأَسْفَلِهَا لَقِيَتْنَا فَتَاةٌ مِنْ بَنِي عَامِرِ بْنِ صَعْصَعَةَ مِثْلُ الْبَكْرَةِ، فَقُلْنَا: «إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدْ أَمَرَنَا , أَوْ قَدْ أَذِنَ لَنَا أَنْ نَسْتَمْتِعَ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ» ، فَهَلْ لَكِ فِي أَحَدِنَا؟ قَالَتْ: أَوَفَعَلَ؟ قُلْنَا: نَعَمْ، قَالَتْ: نَعَمْ، فَنَشَرْنَا بُرْدَيْنَا، فَجَعَلَتْ تَنْظُرُ إِلَى الْبُرْدَيْنِ، ثُمَّ تَنْظُرُ إِلَيَّ , وَإِلَى ابْنِ عَمِّي، فَإِذَا رَآهَا ابْنُ عَمِّي تَنْظُرُ إِلَيَّ عَطِفَهَا، قَالَ: إِنَّ بُرْدِي هَذَا جَدِيدٌ غَضٌّ وَبُرْدَ ابْنِ عَمِّي خَلِقٌ قَدْ مُسَّ مِنْهُ، وَتَقُولُ الْفَتَاةُ: وَبُرْدُ هَذَا لَا بَأْسَ بِهِ، فَكَرَّرَ ذَلِكَ الْقَوْلَ مَرَّةً أَوْ مَرَّتَيْنِ، ثُمَّ اخْتَارَتْنِي، ثُمَّ لَمْ نَخْرُجْ مِنْ مَكَّةَ حَتَّى حَرَّمَهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sabrah bin Ma'bad (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) entered Makkah on the day of the Conquest, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) permitted the people mut'ah with women. So I and a cousin of mine went out. I had a cloak that had already been used, and my cousin had a fresh new cloak. I was handsome, surpassing my cousin in good looks, and my cousin was less handsome than me. We went out until, when we were in the upper or the lower part of Makkah, a young girl of Banu Amir bin Sa'sa'ah, fresh like a young she-camel, met us. We said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) has commanded us, or has permitted us, to contract mut'ah with women. So do you have any interest in one of us?" She said: "Has that really happened?" We said: "Yes." She said: "Very well." So we spread out our two cloaks, and she began to look at the two cloaks, then at me and at my cousin. When my cousin saw that she was looking at me, he tried to draw her attention and said: "This cloak of mine is new and fresh, while my cousin's cloak is old and has already been used." The girl said: "His cloak is fine too." He repeated that once or twice, then in the end she chose me. Then we had not even left Makkah before the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) made it unlawful.
