Sayyiduna Sabrah bin Ma'bad (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had permitted us mut'ah marriage. When we reached Makkah, I and a cousin of mine went to a young girl. I had a cloak and my cousin had a cloak, and my cousin's cloak was better than mine, while I was younger than my cousin. She began to look at me and said: "A cloak is just like a cloak." Then she chose me, so I gave her my cloak. Then I stayed with her for as long as Allah willed. Then I came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and found him (peace and blessings be upon him) standing between the door and Zamzam. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "We had permitted you this mut'ah. So whoever has any of these women with him should let her go, for Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, has made it unlawful until the Day of Resurrection, and do not take back anything of what you have given them."
