باب فيما أعد الله من عقابه، وغضبه يوم القيامة لمن اغتصب مال مسلم، أو حلف عليه بيمين كاذبة

حَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ الْقَاضِي، ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ مَرْزُوقٍ، ثنا شُعْبَةُ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ، عَنِ الْأَشْعَثِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ، قَالَ: " نَزَلَتْ فِيَّ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ، خَاصَمْتُ رَجُلًا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَنَزَلَتْ: {إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَشْتَرُونَ بِعَهْدِ اللهِ وَأَيْمَانِهِمْ ثَمَنًا قَلِيلًا} [آل عمران: ٧٧] "
Sayyiduna al-Ash'ath bin Qays (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "This verse was revealed about me. I had a dispute with a man before the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and then this verse was revealed: 'Indeed, those who sell the covenant of Allah and their oaths for a small price' [Surah Al Imran: 77]."
