Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 6288 — during the Farewell Hajj, the Messenger
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ التَّمَّارُ الْبَصْرِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ، أنا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ يَسَافٍ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ قَيْسٍ الْأَشْجَعِيِّ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ: «أَرْبَعٌ» ، مَا أَنَا الْيَوْمَ بِأَشَحَّ مِنِّي عَلَيْهِنَّ يَوْمَ سَمِعْتُهُنَّ، قَالَ: «لَا تُشْرِكُوا بِاللهِ شَيْئًا، وَلَا تَقْتُلُوا النَّفْسَ الَّتِي حَرَّمَ اللهُ إِلَّا بِالْحَقِّ، وَلَا تَزْنُوا، وَلَا تَسْرِقُوا»
Sayyiduna Salamah bin Qays al-Ashja'i (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that during the Farewell Hajj, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Four things" (and today I hold on to them as firmly as I did on the day I heard them). He said: "Do not associate anything with Allah, do not kill the soul that Allah has made sacred except by right, do not commit adultery, and do not steal."
