Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 6129 — the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Hold fast

حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ مَرْثَدٍ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ، ثنا صَفْوَانُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَوْنِ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعَلَاءِ، عَنْ سَلْمَانَ الْفَارِسِيِّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «عَلَيْكُمْ بِقِيَامِ اللَّيْلِ، فَإِنَّهُ دَأَبُ الصَّالِحِينَ قَبْلَكُمْ، ومَقْرُبَةٌ لَكُمْ إِلَى اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ، وَمَكْفَرَةٌ لِلسَّيِّئَاتِ، وَمَنْهَاةٌ عَنِ الْإِثْمِ، وَمَطْرَدَةُ الدَّاءِ عَنِ الْجَسَدِ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Salman al-Farisi (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Hold fast to the night prayer (qiyam al-layl), for it was the way of the righteous before you; it brings you near to Allah, the Mighty and Majestic; it is an expiation for sins; it restrains from wrongdoing; and it drives sickness away from the body."
