حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ بُنْدَارٍ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَهْلِ بْنِ عَسْكَرٍ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ الْفِرْيَابِيُّ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ الْأَحْوَلِ، عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ، عَنْ سَلْمَانَ قَالَ: جَاءَ قَوْمٌ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ لَهُمْ: «أَلَكُمْ طَعَامٌ؟» قَالُوا: نَعَمْ، قَالَ: «فَلَكُمْ شَرَابٌ؟» قَالُوا: نَعَمْ، فَقَالَ: «فَتُصَفُّونَهُ؟» قَالُوا: نَعَمْ، قَالَ: «وَتُبَرِّدُونَهُ؟» قَالُوا: نَعَمْ، قَالَ: «فَإِنَّ مَعَادَهُمَا كَمَعَادِ الدُّنْيَا، يَقُومُ أَحَدُكُمْ إِلَى خَلْفِ بَيْتِهِ، فَيُمْسِكُ عَلَى أَنْفِهِ مِنْ نَتْنِهِ»
Sayyiduna Salman (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: Some people came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) asked them: "Do you have food?" They said: Yes. He (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Do you have drink?" They said: Yes. He (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Do you strain it?" They said: Yes. He (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "And do you cool it?" They said: Yes. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then indeed the end of both of them is like the end of this world: one of you goes behind his house and holds his nose because of its stench."
