حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ زُهَيْرٍ التُّسْتَرِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ كَرَامَةَ، ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُوسَى، ثنا خَارِجَةُ بْنُ مُصْعَبٍ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «إِنَّمَا التَّصْفِيقُ لِلنِّسَاءِ وَالتَّسْبِيحُ لِلرِّجَالِ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Clapping is only for women, and saying tasbih is for men."
