حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ النَّضْرِ الْأَزْدِيُّ، ثنا شُعَيْبُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو مُصْعَبٍ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ، ثنا أَبُو حَازِمٍ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ قَالَ: اسْتَأْذَنَ الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْهِجْرَةِ، فَقَالَ لَهُ: «يَا عَمِّ، أَقِمْ مَكَانَكَ الَّذِي أَنْتَ فِيهِ، فَإِنَّ اللهَ يَخْتِمُ بِكَ الْهِجْرَةَ، كَمَا خَتَمَ بِيَ النُّبُوَّةَ»
Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that Abbas bin Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with him) asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) for permission to emigrate, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "O uncle, stay where you are, for Allah Almighty will seal the emigration (hijrah) with you, just as He sealed prophethood with me."
