حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الصَّوَّافُ التُّسْتَرِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَعْمَرٍ الْبَحْرَانِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو عَامِرٍ الْعَقَدِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي سَبْرَةَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو حَازِمٍ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، «أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أُتِيَ بِشَيْخٍ أَحْبَنُ مُصْفَرٌّ قَدْ ظَهَرَتْ عُرُوقُهُ، فَزَنَا بِامْرَأَةٍ، فَضَرَبَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِضِغْثٍ فِيهِ مِائَةُ شِمْرَاخٍ ضَرْبَةً وَاحِدَةً»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) that an old man was brought to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) who was suffering from dropsy, yellow in complexion, with his veins showing; he had committed zina (fornication) with a woman. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) struck him with a bunch (of twigs) containing a hundred stalks, a single time.
