حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ سَلْمٍ، ثنا سَهْلُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ قَالَ: " رَأَيْتُ سَهْلَ بْنَ سَعْدٍ صَاحِبَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَالَ وَهُوَ قَائِمٌ بَوْلَ الشَّيْخِ الْكَبِيرِ يَكَادُ يَسْبِقُهُ، ثُمَّ تَوَضَّأَ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ، فَقُلْتُ لَهُ: أَلَا تَنْزِعُ؟ قَالَ: «لَا، قَدْ رَأَيْتُ مَنْ هُوَ خَيْرٌ مِنِّي مَسَحَ عَلَيْهِمَا»
Abu Hazim said: I saw the Companion of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him), urinating while standing, like the urination of an old man that almost escapes him. Then he performed ablution (wudu) and wiped over his leather socks. I said to him: Will you not take them off? He said: "No, I have seen someone who was better than me wipe over them."
