حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ، وَزَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى السَّاجِيُّ، قَالَا: ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْحُبُلِيُّ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ الْحَارِثِ الشِّيرَازِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو غَسَّانَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُطَرِّفٍ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَيَعْمَلُ فِيمَا يَرَى النَّاسُ بِعَمَلِ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ وَإِنَّهُ مِنْ أَهْلِ النَّارِ، وَإِنَّهُ لَيَعْمَلُ فِيمَا يَرَى النَّاسُ بِعَمَلِ أَهْلِ النَّارِ وَإِنَّهُ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ، وإِنَّمَا الْأَعْمَالُ بِالْخَوَاتِيمِ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A man does the deeds of the people of Paradise as it appears to people, while he is of the people of Hell; and he does the deeds of the people of Hell as it appears to people, while he is of the people of Paradise. Deeds are judged only by their endings."
