Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 5775 — I asked Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa'd: Did you

Abu Hazim said: I asked Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him): Did you see finely sifted wheat flour in the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)? He said: "No." Abu Hazim said: I asked: Then how did you sift barley? He said: "We did not; rather we used to blow on it (to remove the husks)."
