It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent word to a woman from the Muhajirun who had a slave who was a carpenter. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said to her: "Tell your slave to make some pieces of wood for me like a pulpit." So she instructed her slave, and he went to al-Ghabah, cut some tamarisk (tarfa') wood and made a pulpit for him. When he had finished it, the woman informed the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that it was finished. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then let it be sent to me." So they brought it to him (peace and blessings be upon him), and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) carried it and placed it where you see it now.
