حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْخَلَّالُ، ثنا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْمُهَيْمِنِ بْنُ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، أَنَّهُ: «حَمَلَ دَرَجَةً مِنْ دَرَجِ الْمِنْبَرِ مِنَ الْغَابَةِ، حَتَّى وَضَعَهَا فِي الْمَسْجِدِ، وَأَنَّ عُودَ الْمِنْبَرِ مِنْ أَثَلٍ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) that he carried one of the steps of the minbar from al-Ghabah (the forest) until he placed it in the mosque, and that the wood of the minbar was of athl (a kind of tree).
