حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ غُلَيْبٍ الْمِصْرِيُّ، ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عُفَيْرٍ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ رَزِينٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ بْنِ قَطَنٍ، عَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ نُسَيٍّ، عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ عُمَارَةَ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَّى فِي بَيْتِهِ، فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَمْسَحُ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ؟ قَالَ: «نَعَمْ» . قُلْتُ: يَوْمٌ؟ قَالَ: «نَعَمْ، وَيَوْمَيْنِ» . قَالَ: قُلْتُ: وَثَلَاثٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ: «نَعَمْ، وَمَا بَدَا لَكَ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ubayy bin Imarah al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed in his house. He said: I said: "O Messenger of Allah! May I wipe over the leather socks (khuffs)?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes." I said: "One day?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes, and two days too." I said: "And three days, O Messenger of Allah?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes, and as long as you like."
