حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ، ثنا يُونُسُ بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، حَدَّثَنِي مَعْبَدُ بْنُ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ أَخِيهِ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ كَعْبٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ: «خَرَجْنَا فِي الْحِجَّةِ الَّتِي بَايَعْنَا فِيهَا رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَكَانَ نَقِيبَ بَنِي عَمْرِو بْنِ عَوْفٍ، سَعْدُ بْنُ خَيْثَمَةَ»
Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) said: We set out for the Hajj in which we pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and at that time the naqib (chief representative) of Banu Amr bin Awf was Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Khaythamah (may Allah be pleased with him).
