It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that when Sayyiduna Abd al-Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) arrived, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) entrusted him to Sayyiduna Sa'd bin al-Rabi' (may Allah be pleased with him) and said: "This is your brother." So he took him along with him, gave him supper and spread a bed for him. When morning came, Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) came early to Abd al-Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him), greeted him with salam, and then said: "Among the Ansar I have the two most beautiful wives and the two finest orchards. Look at my two wives, and whichever of them pleases you more, I will divorce her for you, for her family will not disobey me. And take whichever of my two orchards you wish." But Abd al-Rahman (may Allah be pleased with him) did not accept anything from him.
