Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 5309 — The mother of Sa'd began to say: Alas

حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مَتْوَيْهِ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْجَوْهَرِيُّ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْأُمَوِيُّ، عَنْ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ أَبِي مُسْلِمٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: جَعَلَتْ أُمُّ سَعْدٍ تَقُولُ:

وَيْلُ أُمِّكَ سَعْدًا ... حَزامَةً وَجِدًا
، فَقَالَ لَهَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَا تَزِيدِينَ عَلَى هَذَا، وَكَانَ وَاللهِ مَا عَلِمْتُ حازِمًا فِي أَمْرِهِ، قَوِيًّا فِي أَمْرِ اللهِ»

وَيْلُ أُمِّكَ سَعْدًا ... حَزامَةً وَجِدًا
، فَقَالَ لَهَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَا تَزِيدِينَ عَلَى هَذَا، وَكَانَ وَاللهِ مَا عَلِمْتُ حازِمًا فِي أَمْرِهِ، قَوِيًّا فِي أَمْرِ اللهِ»
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: The mother of Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) began to say: "Alas for Sa'd, how sensible and diligent he was!" the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to her: "Do not say more than this. By Allah! As far as I know, he was sensible in his affairs and strong in the affair of Allah."
