حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْمُعَلَّى الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ الْمُقْرِئُ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، ثنا صَدَقَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ عِيَاضِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ قَالَ: " كُنَّا جُلُوسًا عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَجَاءَ سَعْدُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «هَذَا سَيِّدُكُمْ»
Sa'd bin Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from his father, from his grandfather (Abdur Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him)), who said: We were sitting with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) came, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This is your chief."
