Sayyiduna Zahir bin Haram al-Ashja'i (may Allah be pleased with him) was a Bedouin man; whenever he came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he would bring some fine thing or gift to present. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saw him in the market selling his goods, and he had not (yet) come to him (peace and blessings be upon him). He (peace and blessings be upon him) embraced him from behind with both his hands. He turned and, recognising the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), began kissing his (peace and blessings be upon him) hands. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Who will buy this slave?" He said: O Messenger of Allah, then you will find me of little worth. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "But you are precious in the sight of Allah."
