حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ النَّوْفَلِيُّ، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ الدَّرَاوَرْدِيُّ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ حَبَّانَ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عَمْرَةَ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ، قَالَ: تُوُفِّيَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ أَشْجَعَ، فَذَكَرُوهُ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: «صَلُّوا عَلَى صَاحِبَكُمْ، فَإِنَّهُ قَدْ غَلَّ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ» فَفَتَّشُوا مَتَاعَهُ فَوَجَدُوا فِيهِ خَرَزًا مِنْ خَرَزِ يَهُودٍ مَا يُسَاوِي دِرْهَمَيْنِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Zayd bin Khalid al-Juhani (may Allah be pleased with him); he said: A man from Banu Ashja', one of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), died, and the people mentioned him to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Offer the funeral prayer over your companion, for he has stolen from the spoils in the path of Allah." The people searched his belongings and found in them beads of the Jews worth no more than two dirhams.
