حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمُحَارِبِيُّ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَيْمُونِ بْنِ مِهْرَانَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: قِيلَ لِابْنِ عُمَرَ، إِنَّ زَيْدَ بْنَ جَارِيَةَ قَدْ مَاتَ، فَقَالَ: «رَحِمَهُ اللهُ» فَقِيلَ: يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ إِنَّهُ تَرَكَ مِائَةَ أَلْفٍ، قَالَ: «وَلَكِنَّهَا لَمْ تَتْرُكْهُ»
Amr bin Maymun bin Mihran narrates from his father that it was said to Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both): "Zayd bin Jariyah has passed away." He said: "May Allah have mercy on him." It was said: "O Abu Abd al-Rahman! He has left behind a hundred thousand." He said: "But it did not leave him."
