Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 4779 — I was walking with Sayyiduna Zayd bin

Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I was walking with Sayyiduna Zayd bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him), and he shortened his steps. Then he said: "Do you know why I walked with you in this way?" I said: No. He said: "So that the number of our steps in walking to the prayer would increase." (The narrator al-Sari bin Yahya did not attribute it to the Prophet, that is, he reported it as Zayd's own saying and did not ascribe it to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).)
