Lineage of Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him), and his name: Abu Bakr Abdullah bin Uthman bin Amir bin Amr bin Ka'b bin Sa'd bin Taym bin Murrah — Reports Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)

حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْأَسْفَاطِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْمَسَاحِقِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الشَّجَرِيُّ، ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي هِلَالٍ، عَنْ أَبِي قَبِيلٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: كَتَبَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ إِلَى عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ «أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ شَاوَرَ فِي أَمْرِ الْحَرْبِ» فَعَلَيْكَ بِهِ
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) wrote to Amr bin al-As that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to consult others in matters of war, so you too should adopt this way.
