حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْأَسْفَاطِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْمَسَاحِقِيُّ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبَّادِ بْنِ هَانِئٍ الشَّجَرِيُّ، ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي هِلَالٍ، عَنْ أَبِي قَبِيلٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: كَتَبَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ إِلَى عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ فِي الْأَنْصَارِ: «اقْبَلُوا مِنْ مُحْسِنِهِمْ وَتَجَاوَزُوا عَنْ مُسِيئِهِمْ»
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) wrote to Amr bin al-As that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had said concerning the Ansar: "Accept the good from those of them who do good, and overlook the shortcomings of those of them who do wrong."
