Isma'il bin Ubayd bin Rifa'ah (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from his father, from his grandfather, that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him): "Gather your people for me." So he gathered them, and they were at the door. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Is there anyone among you who is not from you?" They said: No, except our sister's son and our freed slave. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Your sister's son and your freed slave are from you." Then he said: "Indeed, my close ones among you are the God-fearing. Beware lest people come to me with deeds while you come to me with burdens that you carry on your backs." Then he said: "Indeed, Quraysh are a people of patience and trust, so whoever seeks stumbles for them, Allah will throw him down on his face on the Day of Resurrection."
