حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ، وَعَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ، عَنْ مَعْمَرِ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبَةَ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ رِفَاعَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: «كُنَّا نَفْعَلُهُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَإِذَا لَمْ نَنْزِلْ لَمْ نَغْتَسِلْ»
Ubayd bin Rifa'ah (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from his father; he said: "We used to do this in the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him); when we did not ejaculate, we would not perform ghusl."
