Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 4499 — Abdullah bin al-Sa'ib bin Abi al-Sa'ib

Ubaydullah bin Abi Nahik (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Abdullah bin al-Sa'ib bin Abi al-Sa'ib and I were standing when Sayyiduna Abu Lubabah (may Allah be pleased with him) passed by us. We followed him until he entered his house, and we asked his permission and he permitted us. We saw that his belongings were shabby and his condition was poor. He asked: Who are you? We introduced ourselves to him, and he said: Welcome, traders and earners. Then I heard him saying: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He is not one of us who does not recite the Qur'an melodiously." Ibn Abi Mulaykah said: I said: O Muhammad! What if someone does not have a good voice? He said: "Let him make it beautiful as much as he can."
