حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ رِشْدِينَ الْمِصْرِيُّ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، ثنا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، أَنَّ بُكَيْرًا، حَدَّثَهُ، أَنَّ أُسَيْدَ بْنَ رَافِعٍ حَدَّثَهُ، أَنَّ رَافِعًا أَتَى عَشِيرَتَهُ فَقَالَ: «نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ أَمْرٍ كَانَ بِنَا رَافِقًا، وَفِي أَمْرِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَرَكَةٌ وَرُشْدٌ» ، فَقَالُوا: وَمَا ذَاكَ؟ قَالَ: «الْحَقْلُ» . فَقُلْتُ لِأُسَيْدٍ: وَمَا الْحَقْلُ؟ قَالَ: «كَرْيُ الْأَرْضِ» ، فَقُلْتُ: وَكَيْفَ كَانُوا يُكْرُونَهَا؟ قَالَ: «بِالْأَرْبِعَاءِ وَبِالشَّيْءِ مِنَ الْحَصِيدِ»
Usayd bin Rafi' (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Sayyiduna Rafi' (may Allah be pleased with him) came to his clan and said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) has forbidden us something that was a convenience for us, yet in the command of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) there is blessing and right guidance." The people said: What is that? He said: "Haql." (The narrator says:) I asked Usayd: What is haql? He said: "Renting out land." I asked: How did they rent it out? He said: "For (the produce along) the water channels and for a portion of the harvest."
