ذو مخمر ويقال مخبر بن أخي النجاشي
Dhu Mikhmar (may Allah be pleased with him), also called Mikhbar, the nephew of the Negus
Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 4212 — the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: This
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زَيْدٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ الْحَوْطِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ الْحَكَمُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ، ثنا حَرِيزُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ، عَنْ رَاشِدِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي حَيٍّ الْمُؤَذِّنِ، عَنْ ذِي مَخْبَرٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «كَانَ هَذَا الْأَمْرُ فِي حِمْيَرَ فَنَزَعَهُ اللهُ مِنْهُمْ فَصَيَّرَهُ فِي قُرَيْشٍ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Dhu Mikhbar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This matter (of rule) was formerly among Himyar; then Allah took it away from them and placed it among Quraysh."
