حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثنا ضِرَارُ بْنُ صُرَدٍ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ هَاشِمٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي رَافِعٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ: «فِي تَسْمِيَةِ مَنْ شَهِدَ مَعَ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، خَوَّاتُ بْنُ جُبَيْرٍ بَدْرِيٌّ مِنْ بَنِي حَارِثَةَ رَجَعَ مِنَ الطَّرِيقِ فَضَرَبَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَهْمًا»
Ubaydullah bin Abi Rafi' (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates: Among the names of those who took part (in the battles) alongside Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) is Khawwat bin Jubayr (may Allah be pleased with him), who was a participant in Badr and belonged to Banu Harithah. He had turned back from the way, yet the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) still allotted him a share (of the spoils).
