Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 3909 — a Bedouin came before the Prophet ﷺ

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ مَوْهَبٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ مُوسَى بْنَ طَلْحَةَ يَذْكُرُ، عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ، أَنَّ أَعْرَابِيًّا عَرَضَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي مَسِيرِهِ فَقَالَ: أَخْبِرْنِي بِمَا يُقَرِّبُنِي مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ وَيُبَاعِدُنِي مِنَ النَّارِ قَالَ: «تَعْبُدُ اللهَ لَا تُشْرِكُ بِهِ شَيْئًا، وَتُقِيمُ الصَّلَاةَ، وَتُؤْتِي الزَّكَاةَ، وَتَصِلُ الرَّحِمَ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) that a Bedouin came before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) during one of his journeys and said: Tell me of the deed that will bring me near to Paradise and keep me far from Hell. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Worship Allah and do not associate anything with Him, establish the prayer, give zakah, and maintain the ties of kinship."
