حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي رَحِمَهُ اللهُ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ رَاهَوَيْهِ، ثنا أَبِي، قَالَا: ثنا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ حَمَّادٍ، وَمَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ خُزَيْمَةَ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، «الْمَسْحِ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ لِلْمُسَافِرِ ثَلَاثَةُ أَيَّامٍ وَلَيَالِيهِنَّ وَلِلْمُقِيمِ يَوْمٌ وَلَيْلَةٌ» . قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ: قَالَ أَبِي: هَذَا خَطَأٌ، قَالَ أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ: أَرَادَ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ أَنَّهُ خَطَّأَ حَدِيثَ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ الْجَدَلِيِّ، وَالصَّوَابُ مِنْ حَدِيثِ مَنْصُورٍ حَدِيثُ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Khuzaymah bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said concerning wiping over leather socks: "For the traveller, three days and three nights; and for the resident, one day and one night."
Abdullah bin Ahmad said: My father (Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal, may Allah have mercy on him) said: This (chain) is a mistake. Imam al-Tabarani (may Allah have mercy on him) said: What Ahmad bin Hanbal meant was that the narration of Mansur, from Ibrahim, from Abu Abdullah al-Jadali, is a mistake, and the correct narration of Mansur is the one through Amr bin Maymun.
