حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ نَاجِيَةَ، ثنا عُمَرُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْأُبُلِّيُّ، ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ النُّعْمَانِ، ثنا زَكَرِيَّا أَبُو يَحْيَى الْبُدِّيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ النَّخَعِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ خُزَيْمَةَ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ فِي الْمَسْحِ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ: «يَوْمٌ وَلَيْلَةٌ لِلْمُقِيمِ، وَثَلَاثَةُ أَيَّامٍ وَلَيَالِيهِنَّ لِلْمُسَافِرِ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Khuzaymah bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said concerning wiping over leather socks: "For the resident, one day and one night; and for the traveller, three days and three nights."
