Abu Wa'il Shaqiq bin Salamah (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates: We visited Sayyiduna Khabbab bin al-Aratt (may Allah be pleased with him) during his illness, and he said: "In this chest there are eighty thousand dirhams. By Allah! I have never tied a knot over it, nor have I ever withheld it from anyone who asked." Then he wept, and he was asked: What has made you weep? He said: "I weep because my companions passed away and the world diminished nothing from them, while we have remained after them until we find no place for it."
