Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 3638 — Al-As bin Wa'il owed me a due, so I went

Sayyiduna Khabbab (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: Al-As bin Wa'il owed me a due, so I went to demand it from him. He said: I will not pay you your due until you disbelieve in Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). I said: No, by Allah! I will not disbelieve in him until you die and are resurrected. He said: When I am resurrected, I will have wealth and children, and then I will pay you your due. The narrator said: So Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, revealed this verse: "Have you seen the one who disbelieved in Our verses" [Surah Maryam: 77].
