Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 3587 — his grandfather, Sayyiduna Hazn, came

Sa'id bin al-Musayyib narrated that his grandfather, Sayyiduna Hazn (may Allah be pleased with him), came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him: "What is your name?" He said: Hazn (harshness). He (peace and blessings be upon him) wanted to change his name, but he said: I will not change a name that my father gave me. Sa'id said: "So that same harshness has remained among us to this day."
