حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ صَالِحٍ، ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ بْنِ طَارِقٍ، حَدَّثَنَا رِشْدِينُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ قُرَّةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ حَيْوِيلَ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ حَبَّانَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ حَبَّانَ بْنِ مُنْقِذٍ أَنَّ رَجُلًا قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَجْعَلُ ثُلُثَ صَلَاتِي عَلَيْكَ؟، قَالَ: «نَعَمْ إِنْ شِئْتَ» ، قَالَ: الثُّلُثَيْنِ؟، قَالَ: «نَعَمْ» ، قَالَ: فَصَلَاتِي كُلَّهَا؟ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِذَنْ يَكْفِيكَ اللهُ مَا أَهَمَّكَ مِنْ أَمْرِ دُنْيَاكَ وَآخِرَتِكَ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Habban bin Munqidh (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man said: O Messenger of Allah! Shall I devote a third of my supplication to sending blessings upon you? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes, if you wish." He said: Two thirds? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes." He said: All of my supplication? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then Allah will suffice you for all your important affairs of this world and the Hereafter."
