Sayyiduna Husayn bin Mushammit (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that he came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) as a delegate. He gave him (peace and blessings be upon him) the pledge of Islam and paid the sadaqah (charity) of his wealth. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) granted him several water springs at al-Maruth and the land adjoining them, among them Usayhib, al-Maghirah, Ahwa', al-Thimad and al-Sadirah. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) placed a condition on Husayn bin Mushammit, regarding the land granted to him, that its pasture should not be destroyed and its water should not be sold. And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) placed a condition on Husayn bin Mushammit that "he should not sell his water and should not withhold its surplus." Upon this, Zuhayr bin Asim bin Husayn composed these verses:

"Indeed my land was not a bare plain; upon it the pen drew its lines in ink, from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), when he gave to the people, and he left no ambiguity or confusion."
