حبيب بن مسلمة الفهري وهو حبيب بن مسلمة بن مالك بن وهب بن عمرو بن شيبان بن محارب بن فهر بن مالك وأمه فهرية، يكنى أبا عبد الرحمن وكان يدعى حبيب الروم لمجاهدته الروم
Habib bin Maslamah al-Fihri (may Allah be pleased with him): Habib bin Maslamah bin Malik bin Wahb bin Amr bin Shayban bin Muharib bin Fihr bin Malik; his mother was from Fihr; Abu Abd al-Rahman; he was called Habib al-Rum for his jihad against the Romans

حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ الدِّمْيَاطِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ، عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ جَارِيَةَ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ مَسْلَمَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ: «يُنَفِّلُ إِذَا فَصَلَ فِي الْغَزْوِ الرُّبُعَ بَعْدَ الْخُمُسِ، ويُنَفِّلُ إِذَا قَفَلَ الثُّلُثَ بَعْدَ الْخُمُسِ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Habib bin Maslamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) set out on a military expedition, he would give a quarter as nafl after the khums, and when he returned, he would give a third as nafl after the khums.
