حبيب بن مسلمة الفهري وهو حبيب بن مسلمة بن مالك بن وهب بن عمرو بن شيبان بن محارب بن فهر بن مالك وأمه فهرية، يكنى أبا عبد الرحمن وكان يدعى حبيب الروم لمجاهدته الروم
Habib bin Maslamah al-Fihri (may Allah be pleased with him): Habib bin Maslamah bin Malik bin Wahb bin Amr bin Shayban bin Muharib bin Fihr bin Malik; his mother was from Fihr; Abu Abd al-Rahman; he was called Habib al-Rum for his jihad against the Romans

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْقُرَشِيُّ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، وَجَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْفِرْيَابِيُّ، قَالَا: ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَائِذٍ، ثنا الْهَيْثَمُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا الْعَلَاءُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، وَأَبُو وَهْبٍ، عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ، حَدَّثَنِي زِيَادُ بْنُ جَارِيَةَ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ مَسْلَمَةَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «نَفَلَ الرُّبُعَ مِمَّا يَأْتِي بِهِ الْقَوْمُ فِي الْبَدْأَةِ، وَفِي الرَّجْعَةِ الثُّلُثَ بَعْدَ الْخُمُسِ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Habib bin Maslamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave a quarter as nafl from what the people brought at the time of setting out, and on returning, a third after the khums.
