Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 351 — I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْحَرَّانِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، ثنا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ الْمُهَاجِرِ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا غَطَفَانَ بْنَ طَرِيفٍ الْمُرِّيَّ يُخْبِرُ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «مَنْ قُتِلَ دُونَ مَالِهِ فَهُوَ شَهِيدٌ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sa'id bin Zayd (may Allah be pleased with him); he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever is killed defending his property is a martyr."
