Dirghamah bin Ulaybah bin Harmalah (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates through his father from his grandfather, Sayyiduna Harmalah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: I went with the delegation of my tribe to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he ((peace and blessings be upon him)) led us in the Fajr prayer. When he ((peace and blessings be upon him)) concluded with the salam, I looked at the face of the person beside me, and I could not recognise him because of the darkness. I said: O Messenger of Allah! Advise me. He ((peace and blessings be upon him)) said: "Fear Allah. And if you are among people and you hear them saying about you something that pleases you, then do it; and if you hear them saying something that you dislike, then leave it."
