Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 3418 — he said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said

حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى السَّاجِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ كَثِيرٍ الْعَنْبَرِيُّ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ سَلَّامٍ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، حَدَّثَنِي الْحَارِثُ الْأَشْعَرِيُّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «أَلَا آمُرُكُمْ بِخَمْسِ كَلِمَاتٍ أَمَرَنِي اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ بِهِنَّ؟ الْجَمَاعَةِ وَالسَّمْعِ وَالطَّاعَةِ وَالْهِجْرَةِ وَالْجِهَادِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ، فَمَنْ خَرَجَ مِنَ الْجَمَاعَةِ قَيْدَ شِبْرٍ فَقَدْ خَلَعَ رِبْقَةَ الْإِسْلَامِ مِنْ رَأْسِهِ إِلَّا أَنْ يَرْجِعَ، وَمَنْ دَعَا بِدَعْوَى الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَإِنَّهُ مِنْ جُثَاءِ جَهَنَّمَ» . قَالَ رَجُلٌ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَإِنْ صَامَ وَصَلَّى؟ قَالَ: «وَإِنْ صَامَ وَصَلَّى، ادْعُوا بِدَعْوَى اللهِ الَّذِي سَمَّاكُمُ الْمُسْلِمِينَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ عِبَادَ اللهِ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna al-Harith al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Shall I not command you with five things which Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, has commanded me? Staying with the Jama'ah (the community), listening and obeying, emigration (hijrah), and jihad in the path of Allah. Whoever leaves the Jama'ah by even a handspan has thrown off the noose of Islam from his head, unless he comes back. And whoever calls with the call of the Jahiliyyah is among those who fall on their knees in Hell." A man said: O Messenger of Allah, even if he fasts and prays? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Even if he fasts and prays. Call with the call of Allah by which He has named you: Muslims, believers, servants of Allah."
