حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْحَرَّانِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، ثنا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَسْوَدِ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ، «أَنَّ سَعْدَ بْنَ مُعَاذٍ بَعَثَ الْحَارِثَ بْنَ أَوْسِ بْنِ النُّعْمَانِ أَخَا بَنِي حَارِثَةَ مَعَ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مَسْلَمَةَ إِلَى ابْنِ الْأَشْرَفِ، فَلَمَّا ضَرَبَ ابْنَ الْأَشْرَفِ أَصَابَ رِجْلَ الْحَارِثِ ذُبَابُ السَّيْفِ، فَحَمَلَهُ أَصْحَابُهُ»
It is narrated from Urwah (may Allah have mercy on him) that "Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) sent al-Harith bin Aws bin al-Nu'man, the brother of Banu Harithah, with Sayyiduna Muhammad bin Maslamah (may Allah be pleased with him) to Ibn al-Ashraf. When he struck Ibn al-Ashraf, the tip of the sword hit the leg of al-Harith (may Allah be pleased with him), so his companions carried him."
