Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 328 — from his father, Sayyiduna Sa'd, who said

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ كَيْسَانَ الْمِصِّيصِيُّ، ثنا حَبَّانُ بْنُ هِلَالٍ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ، ثنا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَا: ثنا سُلَيْمُ بْنُ حَيَّانَ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ بْنِ خَالِدٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: ذُكِرَ الطَّاعُونُ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: «رِجْزٌ أَصَابَ مَنْ قَبْلَكُمْ، إِذَا كَانَ بِأَرْضٍ وَأَنْتُمْ بِهَا فَلَا تَخْرُجْ مِنْهَا، وَإِنْ كَانَ بِهَا فَلَا تَدْخُلْهَا»
Yahya bin Sa'd narrates from his father, Sayyiduna Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: The plague was mentioned in the presence of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It is a punishment that befell those before you. When it is in a land where you are present, do not leave it; and if it is already there, do not enter it."
